Have I ruined my Da Lite screen?

I have a 106" Da Lite Cinema Contour (fixed frame) screen and as of last night it has a spot on it (see photo). I had noticed a small, round, clear sticky spot on the screen, and so I grabbed a cloth to clean it. I've done this before with the same cloth -- one of those that comes with glasses -- and I just used water. I rubbed the spot for a few seconds and then I saw this brownish spot appear. The spot I was cleaning had no color to it, and the cloth was clean, so I don't know what caused this. I immediately tried cleaning the new spot with mild soap, but it wouldn't come off. Any suggestions? I'm concerned that I will need to replace the screen material, which will run about $450.

Is the spot still sticky? If so, the discoloration may be dirt/fiber from the cloth you used to clean it. Mild soap & water is the method that Da-lite suggests for cleaning, but if that didn't clean off the gunk "denatured alcohol" is the next step up (per Da-lite)
Let me know how it goes!
