A gray screen has been recommended to improve color saturation and contrast. How gray should it be? Like an 18% gray card? Or lighter-36% gray? Is there a pantone equivalent that I can print out on my inkjet to take to the fabric store? Is there a sample than can be uploaded? Which gray is it in the standard test pattern? Is it on the Avia disk?

Thanks.

I mixed my own paint using black and white for my grey screen for the dila. I call it battle ship grey.
It is definetly not light grey.

Yes, fabric store. I was thinking of getting some ultralightweight rayon or viscose to use as a screen.

Thanks. My one track mind had me thinking paint was the only option I had out of the corner I've worked myself into. jdb

Yes!

Jdb:

I have had some fabric samples in my hand which replicate 'to a large extent' the screen materials from some very familiar companies. The trick is which one... bring your screen material samples to the fabric store and you will find some interesting stuff.
