I was actually asking about the internal line doubler rather than the internal scaler. Mark Lopez said that the internal line doubler is usually the problem rather than the scaler, which prompted my question.

A64 2.5GHz, Chaintech VNF3-250, 2x512MB Kingmax DDR500, XFX 6800GT AGP, SB Audigy2 ZS, Seagate 250GB, SATA, Liteon 12X DVD burner, 16X DVD-ROM.

If you have a progressive DVD player then you should be all set. The projectors internal scaler 'should' be ok. However, you should ask in the LCD forum about the particular model you are interested in once you narrow your choices down.
