A few questions for you screen experts:

Does anyone know what the standard black borders on Da-Lite's pull-downs are made of (paint, material, dye)?

Are they painted on after the fact or are they included in the creation process?

Is it possible to increase the size of them somehow that will still allow roll-up?

Any help would be appreciated!

Da-Lite's borders are painted on. I know you can get wider borders upon request, however, since they are painted, making borders wider may increase the risk of edge curl. You should call Da-Lite for a recommendation.

That's kind of what I thought but the initial odor from the new screen definately smells like dry-erase marker not paint. Wondering if this is what they use to prevent screen curl, and if so, any suggestions on a DIY job to increase border size.

Maybe you can field this one Blake (Da-Lite)?
