I just purchased a Sony VPL-AW15 and Dynaclear screen for <$1k so I plan to do a little experimenting w/the screen.

The Dynaclear screen is 80" diagonal in a portable, pullup configuration. Not ideal for a "finished" home theater look.

I have read up on the Planar Xscreen which seems to be composed of a retro reflective screen material with a 4mm layer of glass on top. The Sony Dynaclear screen material seems to have very similar properties (20 degree half gain, dark gray appearance, retro-reflective). In my ignorance I am thinking about taking the Dynaclear screen material and mounting it in a frame (nice, professionally made metal picture frames can be purchased on the web for ~$80 for 70"x40" - the dimensions of the dyncaclear screen).

I haven't received anything yet, so plans may change once I set things up... My question (finally) is this: Does anyone have any knowledge/experience with what would be the best type of glass to put over this screen to minimize reflections and maximize the light transmittance?

I have looked at "glass", tempered glass, plexiglass, lexan, UV protective glass (for artwork), anti-reflective glass (also for artwork, pictures)... Any ideas?

Thanks!
Mike
