Hi,

My planned HT will use a grey painted wall with curtains.

Does anyone have a simple and pleasantly visual method of masking the 16:9 screen to 1.85 and 2.35?

Screen width would be 7ft wide maximum.

Miro.

2 closet rods and 6 yds of balck velvet. Cut 7' of the velvet in half length-wise, and secure half to the top rod (I velcro'd mine just in case I screwed up) and roll it on to the rod until the correct height is achieved. Attach the fel to the 'bottom' rod the same way, and suspend it by string - adjusting the height with cord stops (string squeeze things like on a sleeping bag). If you've got enough left over, you can use some of the velvet to make side-curtains as well, hiding the string. This si pretty much the easiers way to make them, but requires the most manual intervention for adjustments...

Thanks Darren.

Although it's manual, there won't be any motors and wires to hide or short out. I'll look into the rods & try to find ones which won't bend over 7-8ft.

Thanks again,

Miro.
