Who knows what the story is on FireHawk? I understand it is supposed to be optimized specifically for DLP projectors -- GrayHawk being for digital projectors in general.

As I understand it the firehawk maintains the black levels of the Greyhawk while boosting overall light output providing more "punch" to the picture. The downside is a viewing angle reduced about 30 degrees.

I meant reduced viewing angle from which screen??

BTW, where are you folks getting this information??

I haven't read any details on the new screen, and my understanding is that it is still under development.

Sorry for the lack of clarity in my post :o I meant to say that the viewing angle is reduced 30 degrees from the Greyhawk, so John is right it would be reduced to 130 degrees.

And to answer your second question, Cain, I got my information from Stewart Filmscreen and yes it is still being tested.

yes cain in fact they are doing a beta test currently (I applied but got turned down :( or more accurately did not hear back from them so I assume I was turned down)...

anyway, as part of the beta a fair amount of info has been released by DS and the folks at Stewart, both in posts here and in emails.
