I thought it had been out for quite a while, but I can only see the RS1 not the RS2 on the JVC website, is it that new? When are we likely to see a replacement? Maybe a demo at CEDIA?

IIRC it was introduced around October 2007.

Rumour is a new model will be introduced later in the year positioned above than the RS2. AFAIK this is not a replacement for the RS2 and will be more expensive.

I didn´t know how long it had been out, thought it was longer. Guess we won´t be seeing a replacement soon. Was being optimistic and thinking it had been out for a while and we might see a brigther replacement, oh well, c´est la vie.

When I put "JVC" into the seach engine this thread came up asking about the next JVC RS series projector (or possibility of one)

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...&highlight=JVC

Also, projector central lists the release date of the projector within that projector's data/spec summary, if you have that question in the furture.

keyser,

AVS started shipping JVC RS-2s in mid-December 2007; which is when they were
released. JVC hasn't updated their website since the RS-1.

shamus,

If you want the white papers and tech documents....that's on the JVC digital site:

http://www.jvcdig.com/

They keep their "advertising site" up to date; but the technical site is lagging.

There are some rumors that at CEDIA there will be a new JVC projector, but it isn't a RS2 replacement. CEDIA isn't going to be here for a couple months and then whatever they announce can be several months to 6 months before release.

Reliable sources seem tobelieve a RS3 willbe shown at cedia. Rumors flow from it just being an RS2 with an external CMS to a better lens but no one reliable seems to know for sure. Cedia is a little less than 3 months away and availability after Cedia, who knows? I will buy one if it has a better lens.

My highest priority (or at least, desire) would be internal pre-sets for various color gamuts. I'd gladly give up the better lens for this.
