Don't worry about picking on me, Mark; my skin is thick enough, and I'm such a novice in all this HT stuff that I'm surprised when I get anything right. I enjoy your posts and learn much from them.

These filters that I keep hearing about sound very interesting. Is there any reason that epson would only make them available 'over seas', but not here?

And if so, why would they do something like that

(For some reason I have interpreted that this 'miracle filter' not be something we will see in the states)

Yeah, apparently the "warming filters" that reduce the blue on very bright Dynamic modes is called a "series 85"...B&H has some that are combo 85/ND which I think would dim the image unnecessarily, which is probably what Epson uses internally in their pjs...there are also some others under Filters-Color Conversion-81 & 85 Series that should get you close. If we could just get a little guidance from Cine4Home (Ekkehart) we could get started on the "Epson 1080UB color conversion filter tweaks" thread!

Has there been an official announcement for the US 6500UB? I can't find it on Epson's site, although the 6100 is there.
