That's Really Good to hear.
My concern for other people was The brightness and Contrast levels.
Since my screen is a BD i didn't know how it would work for others.

I do find that these levels help eliminate Black and White Clipping...

My blacks are now not as buried and have proper detail.

I have new Modified Vivid settings geared for HDTV that i will post
later this week.

I just installed my Epson 9700 just in time for the final 4. Picture looks great when action is still. During the action/motion of the game it seems jittery and out of focus at times. At times the players looked robotic- if that makes sense. At time the picture seemed to have a lot of noise. I have the projector set to the THX setting. I have put 15 hours on the unit. I will eventually have it set up but I want to make sure that there is not something wrong or the quality of the projector is not all that good......

This unit replaced my Runco CL420 - 720P project. I never had any issues like this.

Has any experienced this???

Hey great thanks looking forward to them. Seems to work very well on my screen. It is high contrast grey 110" with a separate mask. Settings look great. The VIVid best on tv and the thx on dve and bd. Although I used your thx on the borgias and it looked terrific. Hate using the normal but have a couple extra bulbs in case.

I put the noise Reduction setting at 2

Vivid is the best for watching hdtv

What screen do you have it on?

Also when watching BluRay make sure your 4/4 pulldown is on
and when not make sure its off

I am using a Stewart Screen - Fox Fire?

How do I activate the 4/4 drop down as it is greyed out?

Have you had any of the same issues that I am experiencing? Is it the machine, quality or set-up?

you need to read your manual...
The 9700 is dealer sold only. unless you got one used

Dealers are suppose to go thru all these options with you..
you should direct these questions to your dealer...

What Color mode are you in...
Thx or Vivid or Silver Screen?

I have/am reading my manual. I bought the unit "new", I will call and discuss with them today. I am using this venue as an avenue to see if others are experiencing some of the same issues.

I am currently using THX.

If your Source doesnt give out the 4/4 info then the unit wont offer the option ,
thats why its grayed out...
then you will be stuck with just using the Frame Interpolation but this can make the image look unfilm like ...

What source are you using for bluRay...?
How is it connected
are you using hdmi...

My system is connected like this
Projector to Receiver...Yamaha a 2000 via hdmi
then My components are connected separately to the Yamaha..
Ie
Bluray, Media Player, Dish HD PVR, Bell HD PVR, Xbox 360, PS3, FTA HD Satellite PVR, all connected thru HDMI
D-VHS JVC connected via Component, Wii connect to D VHS...

My blue ray source is an Oppo - brand new. I just purchased a Marantz AV7005. I am connecting the Project to the 7005 via HDMI. I am running HDMI from all source components to the 7005. I have watched limited movies (time). I was not impressed watching the game last night, as I mentioned earlier the picture at times was jittery and seemed out of focus and had a lot of noise during motion.

I have watched about 10 minutes of a blue ray and I didn't notice the same issues.

Comcast is my cable provider could it be something with the cable box?

I believe what you are experiencing is handshake issues or as some call it studder. I have had this and have learned all tv through my Onkyo 5008 and direct to my pj that is not already 1080p/24 especially tv should be sent at the most 1080/60 or 720 with 4/4 off and fI off that way it works fine with me. I hope I explained it correctly. Frasia correct me if I am wrong. I can upscale sddvd to 1080p/24 with no problem. The only issues I have is with the comcast cable box and setting it as I explained above takes care of that. These are awesome PJ's but like any other piece of CE gear today there is a learning curve. Mine by the way is a 9500. At the time I purchased I also had a choice of a runco Floor sample 720p and glad I went with the epson. good luck.

You should re read thru this thread there are settings for hdtv that elimates tv judder
but William is Right your Amp cant send everything thru as 1080p/24 or it will Shake..
Actually for Hdtv tv show i have frame Int. set to Low...
For Hdtv Sports it is set to Normal...

I have my yamaha A2000 Rec transmit the single thru with no processing..
I also find that with my HDTV PVR i set it to 1080i and not 720p...

you also want to double check your oppo BluRay and see how its sending video to your Rec. It should be set to 1080p/24hrz....

Will say this ,
Idol is the hardest show to take screen shots from
There colors are so up and down the saturation grid.

and for fun...

Considering purchasing an Epson 9700 to go with a just ordered an OPPO93 and am leaning toward the Anthem MRX700 using my existing Paradigm studio 100's. Any thoughts? This is my first post, so sorry if this is in the wrong section.

The Epson unit will work well with the equipment you have mentioned.
That Anthem MRX700 is that the latest piece that is also a AV Receiver?
YOur Oppo unit is one of the best on the market so again paired with a epson 9700 your in good hands.
You have chosen all higer end equipement and the 9700 will place very well.

Guys, seems there was a mistake made when I ordered my system.
I have a 9700 and a Dragonfly High Contrast 100" Screen that I won't be needing.
All new in unopened boxes. Let me know of any interest.

Anybody use the FIXED anamorphic lens with the PC9700. I have a job that was originally scheduled to use the PC-61000 but since that is not coming I am trying to use the PC9700 with the fixed lens.

Any thoughts or experiences.
