nothing much you can do there, the display panel had degraded just like mine, but mine happened after 600 hours with low usage. Sony quote me a repair bill of more than 3k which i swear will not buy any Sony products again when they intentionally hiding manufacturing/design defects of their product. My HW30ES still kept in my storage rotting. Using a JVC now.

I have a 30es in my home theater and have not had issues. My lamp life is currently at 881. Should I just wait until I have issues to replace? I haven't purchased one. Never had a projector before so don't know if I should keep one on hand or just wait until I have an issue and go from there. Thoughts?

I'd wait until the lamp starts to go and then order one since no one warranty's the lamp beyond 30-90days from purchase. My lamps last @2,500 hours (easy) and then i replace them.
