Joe. You did mention it but not in a truly idiot proof manner. I did not know which icon (because I did not know the icon was the three vertical dots one). I did not have a tablet but was giving help over the phone. The quoted post here is idiot proof. Shows the page and clearly indicates what icon to press.

Yes, indeed, thanks! (And you again, Mark!)

I was in the same situation as JustMike, had company coming over, and needed 2 more sets of glasses.
BB was close, so grabbed 2 pr of PS3's
Never considered that Sony would make them real cheep and less sensitive as the ones that came with the 1000.
Guess I just lucked out.
looked at the glasses. It looks like the lens itself is the pickup, as I don't see any sensors in the frame.
Will look on the net to see if there is a description as to how the glasses work.

This was the first 3D feature in my theater, and a couple of the back row folks commented that they had occasional lost sync on the 3D glasses. I didn't experience that in the front row, but it sounds like I may need to install an emitter at the front of the room. (I'm relying right now on the built-in emitter reflected from the screen.) I did preposition an appropriate cable in the ceiling in case this ended up being necessary, so I don't expect much drama.

I will probably go ahead an get a couple of additional pairs of glasses, and then when I eventually find my missing sets, I will have spares or extras for overflow crowds.

I had to install the transmitter at the front of my room because the hole in the wall the projector is behind is too small for the built in transmitter to work and the remote control will only work from one angle near the edge of the room.

As you know Mike, I have the same screen ( SR - AT CP2 ) as you and never have had any sync problems with the PJ1 glasses, but I really think you should buy a RF transmitter ( Monster´s / Optoma ? ) and some RF glasses ( you could then use the ones you have, to guests or let the back seats get the RF glasses, so everbody will have error free movie nights smile.gif ) - besides the point, that the Sony glasses is very heavy and uncomfortable compared to the others.glasses out there.

I think they forgot to untie the boat from the dock. So they did not make any progress towards the US. frown.gif
They keep telling me they have them and that they will go right out. Still looking for proof.

Wonder if Sony Dave will loose his job?
I has been a long time since he has posed here.
mark haflich's Avatar mark haflich 03:45 PM 03-10-2014
From what I hear, he is OK. Sony brass will only authorize an employee to post in extreme circumstances so I would not read anything into his lack of posting. They do monitor the Sony threads here on a continual basis.

My first pj didnt hold set screen dimensions randomly and it also lost focus when changing aspect ratios from time to time. I don't recall reading anyone else noticing the focus issues along with the aspect issues. May want to hit the focus option and look close.

The dock line has been cut and the little row boat is rowing hard for the US, stockpiled with 17 kits. smile.gif

Well, I found my missing glasses! They were hiding in the box! mad.gif

When I opened that box originally, I opened it on the bottom by mistake. The glasses were in a small box tucked into one of the top foam pieces, which (because of my mistake) was on the bottom of the box, upside down.

When I pulled the box off of the storage shelf on Saturday to try to find the glasses, the box looked empty because the foam was totally hiding that small box. I guess I had flipped one of the foam pieces over during unpacking, because I have been using the remote, but had either not looked at the other piece or I forgot about it since then.

Anyway, now I have a pair for every seat. I'll pick up one extra just in case.

Does anyone make a dongle that allows you to charge multiple glasses at the same time? It would be nice to charge four or more at a time.

Get something like a powered USB hub - I use a DLink 7 port model I think...not that I watch much 3d anymore...

Well, I finally pulled the trigger on adding RF glasses instead of waiting on getting my Sony external emitter run to the front of the room so I can get the cheap PS3 glasses to work. Ordered the kit that comes with the infrared adapter for the RF, the RF emitter, and a pair of Monsters, and then another pair of Optomas recommended here.

I don't recall, and can't find any posts in searches, that show a picture or explain how the Optoma / Monster emitter setup is actually attached? Is it just sitting on top of everybody's projector? Does the IR receiver need to be in a certain spot?

Maybe this will all be clear once I get them...

Also, only person I've ever seen mention the Estar ESG6000 is rcohen, but they are quite a bit cheaper. Anybody else using those instead of the Optomas? I know I won't be buying any more Monsters, but they were fairly cheap as part of the kit vs. trying to get the RF emitter and IR adapter separately.
mark haflich's Avatar mark haflich 09:40 AM 03-11-2014
You need to wall wart the transmitter. so plugging it in to where your projector is plugged in and putting the transmitter on the part that is pointing to the ceiling (probably the bottom of the case) is an easy way to go. The IR receiver which plugs into the RF transmitter (the cord that plugs into the RF transmitter which has an IR receiving cell on it) needs to be in front of the IR bulb sender built into the projector. I forget where it is but it shows up on the Sony diagrams identifying what is what. You can just dangle the receiver or even tape it on, or make a small pole etc. You will figure out what works.

And the info menu, as mike said, will show it as an ES1100.

the Sony tech just called to confirm doing three at my house on Thursday morning and afternoon. you should three all lined up in a row with a boxed upgrade board sitting on the top of each case. maybe I should do a triple stack to see how bright I can light up my 36 sq ft (1.78 54 x 96) Stewart 1.0 gain screen.

Well yeah, but you have to turn it on for that--and you get a generic serial number now. I figured the sticker was for exterior use that Sony might want to have that there for some reason, so they wouldn't have to power it on or open it up to find out. As long as they don't ever ask me for any details off the non-existent sticker, and there is no effect on resale value (hopefully it doesn't have a revised serial number)--I don't care...

Man this thread is deteriorating.

Let's get some things straight. The deal for the kit package will probably expire by the end of the month. Aafter that time it is possible that one owning an un modified 1000ES will not be allowed to purchase a 1100ES motherboard, Special software is required to install it and it is possible if a board is made available your machine the machine will have to be shipped somewhere for installation. Sony is undergoing major layoffs in its field engineers, field techs and techs at its Lorado facility. It would be very wise to order a kit now if you haven't already done so. And to get it installed before the end of the month. Just my read.
