You obviously don't buy any older films, most of the re masters I have look SHOCKING on a large screen. Many of the new discs however look spectacular, but sadly the movies are often only suited to a very young generation. Bang bang your dead!

An owner on the X10 thread posted that they've had it connected to a LG 4K TV. There's some discussion about it after his post too:

We've had a couple of firmware updates recently, but unfortunately, we don't get release notes that indicate what's changed. The worst bug (IMO) where no sound would come from the left surround channel when playing Sony 4K content has been fixed. They also added a high-res audio music player app a few days ago, so they are at least actively working on it.

We haven't heard anything official on Amazon 4K, but the review on this site says first quarter 2015 (last section of the review):
