I have lots of SHARP PROJECTOR in my district. When some of my campuses order the diamond bulb and a replacement but things i discovered. the design of the bulbs were slightly different.. i had to force the diamond bulbs to fit and also the bulbs only lasted about 1 to 2 weeks... so maybe only 100-150 hrs compared to the OEM sharp that lasted 2000 plus hours..

 i do not suggest Diamond bulbs..

UPDATE....I have never owned a Diamond Bulb for my JVC-RS20, and have been using apexlamps.com for a while now. This is a genuine Phillips bulb; the same exact bulb they used when the rs20 was being produced. Of course, the housing is not OEM, but it does not off-gas, and is great quality. $249 for this bulb, and my thinking is that if the Diamond Lamp is brighter, then it will be hotter, making me nervous about the internal components of my good 'ol 'Cadillac Escalade

PS...I have logged over 5000 hours on my 20 (knocking on wood!)

@Davespectral ,

Couple of questions on that bulb you have for $72....

1. What JVC projector are you using?

2. How many hours do you have logged on this bulb, and any significant drop off in brightness after 500 hours?

3. What are the 'specs' on this bulb? e.g., wattage, ft l light output, life expectancy, etc

Sounds too good to be true, but I will await your answers
