So you're running subs with the 215's. Do you need them? I ordered my 212's last November to avoid the January price increase but had I known about the upcoming giant speakers I might have waited. Can't cry over coulda woulda shoulda though - I'm happy.

I am planning on running the JTR 215RT's as full range and send LFE and other channels set to small to my Dual Seaton SubMersive HP's

The Seaton's are in between the left / center, and center / right

OK, where'd you get those chairs? My daughter and her friends would LOVE them. Right now I've just got 5 regular old bean bag chairs.

I've been working away on the HT. I have the drywall sprayed and painted. I did a faux paint on the knock down texture. Started with a chocolate brown and topped it with a flat black. I also finished my back wall. I used that blue jean insulation covering it with black cloth. This blacked it out and made the wall sound dead. Just finishing up the would trim. Once that's in the carpet can be laid. Still a lot of small detail work and the ceiling need to be finished but I hope to have it operational by football season.

I purchased a curved row of 4 Fusion Elite chairs and another set of VMPS RM40s to use as surround speakers. Sorry for the bad cell phone picture, better pictures to follow as the room gets cleaned up.

Looks like a nice sized space to work with. Looking forward to seeing it completed.

Nothing new in HT.
Working on some outdoor speakers -- too bad at the end of the summer rather than the beginning.

Hi SOWK,

Just curious why are you moving on from X500? I'm thinking of upgrading from my circa 2009 JVC RS-25 to a RS-4910 and would be curious what you thought of the X500.

The JVC X500/RS4910 to me, as of right now, is the best 1080P projector on the market for the money IMHO.

I'm strange in the fact I like to change things out each year (Projector Usually), and I needed some money for the new amp I bought. So going back to DLP for one year and then Probably a 4K laser/Led machine next year.

You seriously can not go wrong with the JVC RS4910 if you buy one.

I still have my 2008 era JVC RS20 (calibrated again last year by Craig Rounds).
What is the newest JVC series now.
Info from CEDIA.
I have been out of the loop.

The RS4910/X500/X700/X900 is the latest.

JVC does not have new models this year.

Depending on street price the Espon maybe the best 1080P projector this year. But I have a hard time recommending if over $5000 with 4K blu-ray coming out next year.

I hear your love for the RS20. About once a year I replace the bulb in my RS25 and I love the projector again for the first 100 hours. Then the brightness drops and I'm sad. Its still a good picture but I miss the pop that comes with a new bulb. The bulbs in the 4910s sound like they have a more linear, stable and slightly longer life.

I'm not sure about love for RS20. It works well and replacing would be expensive.
I have a (mostly) light controlled room -- although not a SOWK black hole -- and it does well.
I also wonder about the pain of re-setting up with the mount and positioning for my CineSlide and ISCO III setup.

I did end up purchasing a RS4910. Besides the other benefits of a newer model my hope was it would double the brightness of my RS25. My hopes have been exceeded there. Plenty bright for my 106" screen.

I'll have a RS25 for sale in Mequon sometime soon.

Congratulations! The RS4910 is one of if not the best 1080P projector for the money at the moment .

Also 106" screen is child's play for these 2014 projectors.

I finally got my Buttkickers hooked up and dialed in. That they make a huge difference in my HT with the tactile feel of the bass. My HT is in the basement so the chairs sit on a carpeted concrete floor.

When set at moderate levels, you really don't know they are there, they blend in well with the speakers. Now the bass feels like it did when the system was in the living room. I'm running two 18" sealed subs with plenty of power but feel the Buttkickers were a worthy addition.

I plan to do crowson transducers at some point in my system.

Any new pics TedO?

Pics will come once the ceiling is in. Working on that is weekend.

Congratulations to Agrsiv95 for being the first Wisconsin member that I know of to have Atmos installed.

I'm sure you will enjoy it thoroughly.

I'm only a 55 inch lcd owner ....

What would be a good (around $1500 ) projector for concerts and movies . (not into games )

The rec room is around 17w x 34 just under 8ft ceiling with a door on screen wall .

One row of seating (couch ) around 10-11 feet away .

I was thinking around 110 " screen ? (not looking to be in the first row of a theater. )

Should I go with AT screen so I can put acoustic treatment behind screen ?

I've been collecting GIK panels because the room is a little "live"

Finally got around to replacing my aging JVC RS2 with the Sony 55. I could not be more happy with the upgrade - the picture is 100% better in all areas.

I struggled with the choice between the 4910 and the Sony 55, really struggled. My wife and I were able to get some time with both at 2 different local shops in Appleton and the differences were minimal we thought so I let her talk me into spending less money on the Sony and putting that difference aside for some new surrounds i want.

The Sony was unbelievably easy to setup and great straight out of the box.

Now its on to new surrounds and new mains, then a new pre/pro, then atmos overheads, etc... Its a never ending cycle but it sure is fun.
