Try fire resistant silicone sealant if you're using regular bulbs. Any big box carries it. If you're using LED's, any silicone will work.

I'm thinking about upgrading to Atmos, but in my space it may not be worth it.

If interested, take a look at my thread and give your thoughts. I wasn't able to get much response from anyone else.

First off... What you have done with the space is absolutely amazing.

Great Job.

as for Atmos I hate to say it but I personally would probably not attempt it as the drop in your ceiling on the left hand side is going skew things and offer a less than optimal overhead listening experience.

On another note, if you or anyone else wouldn't mind taking another look at my last post in Atmos Feasability thread, I'd appreciate it. I did some inspection this weekend with pilot holes and an inspection camera and found I am able to get some speakers in front of the seats, making it much more feasible. I know it still isn't ideal, but I think this makes it good enough to be "worth it" .

Pennynike and I are going to CEDIA.

In an atmos setup you would want the ceiling speakers inline with your front speakers, so the overhead above seating in your pic is more optimal.

It's the height difference that will make it less optimal in your current situation.

You might want to look into and see if there is an option for only two ceiling speakers. One in front and and one behind the main listening position centered and inline with the center channel.

Nice, enjoy! I hope it's a great trip.

Interesting...I've never heard of that approach before. Sadly I'm almost certain there is no way I could do anything right smack in the center. due to obstructions and the projector being there.

In the past I've used Photobucket to share my pictures on forums, but it's acting up lately and I can't get it to work. So if anyone wants to tell me an easy way to upload pictures, I'll get some up of my theater room later today!

I'm following your sub demo thread (I suggested Nemo). I'm a big fan of how you have that one single chair right in the middle for your perfect seat.

Ha ha! As fun as that would be, I don't want to crowd Jeff as he works! Maybe we can organize a demo day or another shootout or something in the future at my place though? I've got seating for 10 - 11 people in my room!

Ha ha!

Every time someone says "YOLO" and then does something "stupid" I always feel like they just acknowledged that they have one shot at life, and then go and do something foolish to mess it up! Hypocrites! : )

Question on Linacoustic sources near Milwaukee?

Hey everyone - I'm just winding up the planning on a new basement theater. I had the builder dig down 3 feet deeper, which is going to be overkill since I now need a 3 foot riser to enter. Finished room will be about 22 x 17 x 12.

Had a question. Does anybody have any suggestions on where to source Linacoustic RC around Milwaukee? Can't seem to find it other than through HVAC companies who want $450 for it. Ouch.
