Is there any differences in the W6000 and W7000 for 2D picture. I'm considering one of these for a while. 3D is not real inportant to me which is why I'm considering just the W6000. Looking for opinions from anyone who has seen both. Does the W7000 have any benefit over the W6000 when it comes to strictly 2D viewing. Thanks for any help.

I'm Jeff and I approve this message.

The W6000 has 500 more lumens. I can't attest to the picture quality of either. I could use the W6000 for a 2.4 :1 screen in my HT room, but according to Projector Central's calculator the W7000 wouldn't be bright enough. Consider that it's even dimmer in 3D and the bulb is going to dim with age, so looks like the W6000 is the winner, at least in my case.

I can not comment on the difference in picture quality in 2d since I have neither projector. But I am sensitive to RBE and experience eye strain and/or headaches with slower color wheel speeds. The W7000 reportedly has a higher speed color wheel which makes it a better choice for me regardless of the image quality differences.

No, that's wrong. The reviews at PC and PR both show it to be as bright or brighter than the W6000 (I'd have to read them again, but I think both actually show the W7000 to be brighter in "best" mode). Whether there's any advantage other than 3D with the W7000 is a little less clear.

From what I've read in the reviews, my guess is that if you don't want 3D, then it won't be worth almost 2x the money for the W7000.

Where did you see this? According the PC the W7000 has a 4x wheel which I suspect is the same as the W6000.

w7000 because it' s newer, it has Frame Interpolation, it's brighter according to reviews and even if you don't care it is 3d as well.

Sorry but I don't recall exactly where. There were several posts in this forum discussing it and I thought it was confirmed the w7000 had a 6x wheel. If I have a moment later, I'll do a quick search and post it here.
