Probably 2 or 3 years before it finds its way into a consumer product.

the maximum lumens per watt (@ 555 nm or so) is 683, so this laser would likely need to be something around 2W before it could be usefully used in a home theatre projector. The article says >100mW. So either they have a ways to go, or your HT projector will need 20 of them. Or so goes my math anyway
