As last year, I will report live from Germany for all avs readers about all the new projectors that are going to be revealed in Berlin IFA Show.

Here some gossip about the new projectors :

http://www.cinetson.org/phpBB3/projecteurs-f2/ifa-berlin-2012-worf-reportage-news-projos-2012-t36035.html

SONY only one successor to the HW30ES.
JVC blackout, I just hope that like the past, the manufacture will continues to offer us a major innovation every two years.(and this is one of the 2 years wink.gif)
A successor to Mitsubishi HC9000, the HC10000 the? Beginning at 8000 euros.
EPSON blackout.
Panasonic: a new model is in the works;)
Lg blacckout until the 29 august

BenQ won't be present at the IFA.

Acer will be there and hopefully this will give us a manufacturer of numerous models LED / LASER to be present in Viewsonic, Optoma, BenQ.

Wouldn't you consider JVCC's use of e-shift to be a major innovation and this year will be year two of the cycle? That said I have no inside info re JVC and look forward to whatever they bring out, refinement or revolutionary.

In my opinion a real 4k résolution or a laser light source Projector will better suit with my conception of a big improvment.

A laser light source would be great! If not that I would like JVC to use lamps that slowly decay over time like the ones Sony use. That in itself would be a big improvement IMO. I would also like even better blacks and contrast, better motion, better 3D, better CMD, and a gaming mode for less lag. smile.gif

Kraine .... definitely no replacement for the 95?
I was hoping to be able to pick up a 95 around Christmas time, with it being a lot cheaper due to it's replacement being annouced at IFA / Cedia?

Laser for home will take a while still. Probably 5 years at least to really mature.

Did he say when it will be unveiled? I'm interested to see a successor to the vw95.

I would love to see one of the major players (JVC, Sony, Epson, Mits.) introduce an LED projector with at least 900-1000 lumens @ D65 / REC709, for less than $7K. But that probably want happen.

This projector isn't a home theater model. Panasonic will present a real home cinema projector at IFA, expect release date fall 2012.

Hi,

I know, but we can expect an HT Projector (not the PT RZ470) with LED Laser, maybe at IFA when we read those informations :

"Panasonic offers the first product with this new chip" :

http://stereoscopynews.com/hotnews/3d-cinema/exhibition/2535-new-t-i-3d-dlp-chipset.html

It's not the same Chip (20 mm against 16,5 mm)

RED always delay their products further anyway. smile.gif

Best bet is 2013, that year will be the start of 4K content too (aka blu-ray 4K or violet-ray-whatever).

As for PT-RZ470K/W I don't believe it will be great for Home Theater applications, note the marketing team didn't mentioned nothing about HT there.

I can be wrong though.

Any news for JVC's at IFA or just Sony for now?

Fernando

Curious if Epson will have any news on the EH-R4000/61000 or if they are willing to get back on that roller coaster yet?

EPSON will communicate about the new models, only one or two days before the opening of IFA Show.

I don't read that as meaning it's a new DMD, I read that as meaning TI has a new DLP Chipset, as in the IC/chip that drives the DMD.

See what an anamorphoscopic lens can do, see movies the way they were meant to be seen

Yup, Epson EMEA rep today announced, on the Dutch HT Forum, that Epson will continue to focus on good and affordable 3D 3LCD projectors. The, by now outdated, non-3D, R2000/4000 has been cancelled and the few units sold (to distributors/dealers) have been recalled. No Reflective LCD for some time to come. Development of Reflective LCD will continue, as the quality issues have been identified and resolved, but competing technology has moved forward over the past two years, so no R2000/4000. Nor other reflective LCD projector at the Fünkaustellung.

The processing chip, so TI offers CE manufacturers with off-the-shelf 3D support...

I wonder what else besides one replacement projector Sony will unvail. I am hoping for a new pair of the home theater in a pair of glasses this year with better ergometrics and 1080p instead of 720p. Anybody know?

I had heard the same thing a few months back frome some who does consulting work for Epson. I think we will see very small changes on the LCD projectors since this is the 2nd year of their cycle.

A replacement for the entry-level TW-6000, it will bring back lens shift to the Epsons in this market segment.
