A few years ago I bought a used RS2 online. For the most part I have been satisfied with it, I love the blacks, but I have always craved something brighter. I have not been keeping up with new models / progress of home theater at all. I'm hoping some one could just fill me in real quick. I don't really see the need to pursue better blacks ( but don't want to go in the other direction either ), but would like more brightness. Under the assumption that the technology has continued to improve, I have some questions. For example, maybe newer Epson models have caught up with the older RS2 in terms of blacks, but offer more brightness? ( that is the kind of thing I'm wondering)

There are newer and better options. Though JVC still is king for black levels by far. How much brighter did you want it?
