Hello Everyone,

I was just wondering, besides the actual cost of purchasing the projector, how much extra in materials does it cost to actually ceiling mount the projector? Where do you normal place all the wires? How do you get a power outlet close enough on the ceiling to power your projector? Do most people just hire professional help to mount their projectors?

Thanks, just doing some preliminary research on projectors.

A mount, ceiling plate and drop tube run about $200 for a pretty good mount.. As for wiring, you need to get power to the projector and HDMI to the projector. You may also need Cat5/6 to the projector for control and/or for 3D emitter. How you get those there are different for each person, based on what obstacles are in the way. You can even go wireless HDMI, but still have to have power.
