Hi. Anyone playing SBS 3d Mkv's. Anything that I need to do so projector auto detects the 3d. It works fine by manually changing the 3d settings but I would like it to pickup auto

Oh and I am using Windows media center to play these files if that's relevant. Like if it's a player setting that needs to be changed or something. I already tried Googling

Does anyone know if the JVC glasses are going to be the best to use and if not are others compatible? I have formed up my preorder with Mike on the 4810 and was wondering if I should commit to more than one pair of JVC glasses upfront.

Thanks,
S

Gaming 3D and side by side are not supposed to have worked well at all on first couple generations of JVC 3D projectors. Are you saying above that it is working well now without tons of ghosting, aside from wanting it to be auto detected?

Thanks for the pics. I would love to see these same shots again, but with darbee+eshift2 and then with no eshift2 and just the Darbee. I am really curious to see what difference there is between just running a Darbee with no eshift2 and eshift2 with no Darbee........the pics above with just eshift2 look very similar to my eyes with what I get on my 45 when I turn the Darbee on/off and am wondering what the Darbee would do on top of the eshift2.

JVC 3D: Been there, done that, bought a DLP

It seems that Eshift2 makes a great job well noticeable and distinct from the darbee's one

So just to be clear, these two pictures are Darbee HD @+30 + eshft2 and then just Darbee +30 no eshift2, correct?

Right, picture number 0043 e 0044 are with Darbee + 30

Pictures number 0002 and 0003 without Darbee

I noticed that with Eshift2 ON, images looks brighter in some way

Thanks for the link. Wow, the difference is very noticeable with e-shift2 on. However, I would dial down the processing a bit. I'm guessing the pics taken here were default settings on the film 4k profile.

X55 at home since yesterday.
So, I am happy with this projector :
1 - picture is sharper than my x30
2 - there is less video noise, really less
3 - brightness is enough for my 2,20m (iris at -7)
4 - Colors and gamma are great out of the box (it is not the case for all owners).

Eshift is specific but it is a nice tool. I prefer it in film mode.
Out of the box, it provides av very natural image, better than the x30. A great upgrade for me and, most important, a video noise better handled.

To Mods
Which thread is going to become the de facto "owners thread"? There's a chance to miss posts on the one that dies and goes away. SOWK started this one below awhile back as well which has a lot of info. Maybe they should be merged?

"maybe they should close this one ?"

I would think hopefully they're merged because there are going to be highly anticipated first impressions of first owners. Maybe for now any of those should be posted in both?

I'm going to do that. Below is a copy of what I sent to Mike at AVS having to drop off pre-order list. I have an important demo on the 15th and needed to make sure I had one. For not too bad more I instead purchased it local from an installer / calibration / optimization person and will called it from AVAD in Van Nuys yesterday. Spent a lot of time looking at familiar demo material including awesome 1080P scenic photos save on my PS3 that I've been collecting since the RS1 came out. Wow! Coming from a superb RS50 UMR magic done.....as well. I agree completely with Projofan above about colors out of the box in user 1 standard profile (for me) with C gamma looking best to me whatever the hell that is.... biggrin.gif Miss the actual numbers for gamma that are probably RS56 and up. Also agree with him about the lack of noise and liking Film 4K conversion the best. It is sweet! Seemingly on pristine material you can take the "enhance slider" way up to no real ill effect vs positive trade off. Very impressive depth added on its own before I even get to the Darblet added in. I can see now why eShift people last model were running at considerably lower Darbee settings than me quite happy higher with non eShift 1080P settings.

to Mike:

"If my unit is any indication of the "QC" people are going to love these machines. Dead perfect convergence middle 5-6 feet of 8.5' wide 16x9 AR screen. On both just the sides red off horizontally in opposite directions by no more than 1/2 pixel. Focus and color uniformity excellent. Blacks look as good to me as my RS50 rated at 70,000:1 in same projector location and zero bright corners.

The eShift2 looks tremendous on its own and with my high quality 1080P scenic photographs saved on PS3, seemingly I can take the "enhance" slider in all the modes way the hell up and not notice any negative effect, only positive. Not sure about all the sliders. My guy doing the calibration has the RS55 and probably can give me some guidance. He's moving on too to the RS56. It looks much better out of the box with that dimensionality than what I saw on his machine about 5 months ago, and still plays very well with the Darblet! User 1 standard color profile seems very nice for out of the box color."

this just gets me pumped! cant wait till AVS starts shipping their lot.

I'm coming from an X30 and will try and get some comparison pics up (on a crappy point and shoot though) for those who are in my shoes considering if an upgrade from the X3/X30 is worth it. I am sure zombie's comparisons will be much better though smile.gif.

Do you happen to know where you were in the pre order list I was around 40 ish, just wondering is all. rolleyes.gif
Hoping for next week.

Good question - not exactly sure - as soon as the preorder pricing was out I spoke with Mike and gave him my cc# so I would think I am pretty early on but I never asked him an exact number.

Sadly my theater seats showed up from Roman today but have no room for those either. I have the two biggest expenses coming but no theater done yet - inspiration is running high at this point
