Do you have a link to the flash/software update?

Lamp was not the issue. Condition continues with different lamp

Unfortunately I don't have. I have a JVC. But here's something that may help - http://www.solvusoft.com/en/update/d...es/sub-models/
I'm NOT 100% SURE as this driver-firmware

The link you provided is a file scanning software for computers, it is not firmware drivers for a Sony or a JVC projector. I don't know if that particular one is malicious or dangerous but I would not install it on my PC and would also recommend that you not either. Thank you for helping me realize that I could go to the Sony support page for any software they may have available.

Here is the link to the calibration adjustment software on Sony's support site but I have not found any firmware updates yet..

Here is the ACTUAL link to the firmware update on Sony's support site (FAR safer and no cumbersome 3rd-party software being loaded on your computer).

Yes,it seems useless program. Unfortunately nothing yet for the Sony not found. For JVC just - http://www3.jvckenwood.com/english/download/ .

Your Actual link is known to me,but there does not contain the firmware file, not the program of flasher. There is only adjustment. Maybe I am mistaken?
Downloaded the sample-GAMMA adjustment, etc.

Thank you for service menu remote keystrokes.

I can now see that the unit has very low total hours (only 4221) so it may be newer than the original owner stated.

SC ROM Version: 01.00
Sub ROM Version: 01.00

Option 1 - not applicable (all cables same effect)
Option 2 - Firmware update (I am calling Sony in the morning)
Option 3 - I have a request into Mendtronix for an estimate of repair

There is an option 4 - Sell it on eBay with FULL disclosure to others who may be better able to fix or may be fine with it the way it is (e.g. sports bar that doesn't care how good the picture quality is).

Although there is still possible 3) Processor symbols (a separate small Board). In any case, you need a Diagnosis. The maximum that you can do at home is to reflash,BUT the firmware is nowhere to be found. The vicious circle turns out, unfortunately.

Could someone post a picture of a still shot of a football game where the camera is panned out, like when everyone is lined up before the snap?

It seems that my projector has a problem as the picture is not clear at all during those shots, but up close the picture is very clear. I have no idea why there's such a big difference in clarity, but I want to know if it's just my projector or if all HW50ES's look that way. Maybe it's my screen causing the issue.

My projector is mounted about 15' from the screen in a light controlled room.

Below are some pictures from my seat. The first 3 seem a little fuzzy to me, but the closeups seem more clear.

***Edited*** I accidentally indicated I had a HW55ES.

If the ebay seller you bought it from didn't inform the defects on that projector, why not put dispute and get your money back through ebay buyers protection program?
I found him through the local newspaper. I did not know he had it listed on eBay until I went to pick it up.

When I got there he had the projector set up but not the screen so the image I saw was being displayed on one of his walls of the room. I should have went into the projectors setting then and attempted to resolve the image issues then and there. I chalk this one up to me being too eager to get my hands on it rather than his lack of information.

Unrelated but your mount isn't level in your Ebay ad. You shouldn't have to do that with a projector like the 50ES that has ample lens shift. Avoid using keystone correction...it degrades picture quality.

I hear ya. As this is a bonus room as well as a HT I have a ceiling-hugging ceiling fan between the projector and the screen so a bit of tilt is required with the pole that came with the mount. I will likely buy a longer pole. I still need to replace the non-AT fabric in the powered retractable screen and then mount it as well before I decide what length pole would work best for the HW45ES that will eventually be going in it's place.

And no offense but I saw your ad in the classifieds here and I think you could be a bit more upfront about the condition of the projector. This thread could move very quickly and the information about the defects could be lost.

Personally I think you should work something out with the individual you purchased it from. I struggle to understand how it's worth even your low asking price if it doesn't work properly.

The details were documented on the external site. The classified listed here has been removed to eliminate any confusion.

Someone has already placed an opening bid so it will sell. There are 17 others watching it as well as of this date. For all I know they may be buying it for parts or may know how to fix it based on the description and images provided in the ad.
