For under 10K there are some good selections available if you look at the large venue DLP's that can do double duty as HT projectors. The DPI M-Vision & E-Vision series come to mind. The 2K to 6K range is where DLP is virtually non-existent which is apparently the sweetspot for a decent high quality projector.

Except only a couple models offer 3D capability and none of them make the cut for "high contrast", even among other DLP projectors.
