Hello to all
Soon I would like to buy a projector.
My choices are between optama HD 33 and Mitsubishi HC 7800 d.
Preference for View 2 d after 3 d
Most use is for movies and games.
What is the best between the two devices?
Please help me to choose the best.
And thank you.

...they are both really pretty good projectors and I've had them both on my lists. what size screen are you going to use? which aspect ratio 16:9 or 2:35? Is there any ambient light in your room? The mits has a cool zooming option for use with a 2.35 screen. The optoma has a lot of lumens for large 120" 16:9 screen.

I read from another poster that the Mits has a lot of nasty issues unless you get one with the latest firmware, and supposedly Mits will not upgrade the firmware for you if you buy one and it doesn't have latest (don't know if that is true or not).

go for optoma
I have the mitsu, and I can tell you that these issues are true, btw,i have had the optoma and from a personnel point of view, I would advise you to go for it,tough it might be that those who reported these issues on the mitsu have got an early bugged units.

Thank you JoeBoy73 and coderguy for your help.
For I choose to screen size of 110 inches. Gray screen
Lighting in the room will be very few and sometimes without lighting.
What's the best in the show. 2-D and 3 d.
I am very puzzled between optama and Mitsubishi.
Is there a test for people in optama and Mitsubishi.

thank you.....

For 2D Mitsubishi obviously, better contrast, better blacks. HD33 is entry level.

Check out the HC7900 which just came out.
That has none of the issues that the HC7800 has.

If you can afford the extra $500 you can get the HC8000D which is only available through CEDIA dealers when it comes out but it has a stellar review @ Projector Central and also gives 3D @ 1080p/60 per eye.
