I bought a new RS45 from AVS about 3 months ago. A few weeks before that, I ordered speakers from Salk. The speakers took longer than expected to arrive (>3 months), so I just hooked up my projector yesterday. It worked great for 1.5 days, and now won't turn on. AVS can't do anything because it's out of their 30 day window.

Looking at the JVC site, it seems like there is no phone support, only a form I can fill out and mail them the projector. No information about how long it will take. Also, I'm an idiot and I don't have the original box anymore, so I can't even send it back. And there's nobody to call. This seems really weird for a $3,000 projector. Am I missing something? Is Epson this bad with service as well?

I sent you a PM. Also what is the sequence of the flashing lights. See page 18 of the owner's manual for a description of the warning lights.

Thanks - I appreciate the contact info. The projector was constantly flashing red and orange. It didn't seem to fit any of the codes listed on Page 19. I unplugged it for a night and it's worked fine for two startups since then.

No mater what, I think it's really weird that JVC has no basic level of support. Just "mail it in, and someday you'll get it back", when maybe the right answer is to just unplug it.

too bad Bryston didnt make projectors, best service i've ever encountered.
My X9 new when I brought her home stopped also(last year)forget the colour flashing sequence, but what it was during shipping some part of the power became disconnected inside.
dealer had to send it out to be reconnected 3weeks LTR.ever since been great.

seem that alot of or some companies say like AVS, Bryston,Velodyne ect have an official site.
I would as they are hundreds of JVC users here that JVC would have a site or have a JVC representitve on here to help people.
Obviously to me they seem not to give a rats ass about the customer.
Look at AVS guys(mike) and others are here basically all the time, same with Velodyne, audiocircle(bryston) James Tanner is there for the customer 1000%,
where is JVC........on the beach over looking them soft breezes on the islands or high up in there 80 story offices number counting.
Jeez its cold up here, think I'll go shovel snow and cooool off.

JVC has customer support number. It is on the bottom of the page, that I sent you the link: http://pro.jvc.com/prof/support/index.jsp
It is also on this page: http://support.jvc.com/consumer/support/index.jsp
The number is 1-800-252-5722.

The number gives you the address of the nearest service center for you to mail your projector into. It doesn't give you an option to speak to anyone.

You get a message that says “For Operational Assistance Press #1”. Projectors is choice #4. Then you enter in the first three digits of your projector. That will get you assistance. Of course you have to do this during regular business hours: (Mon-Fri 8AM-8PM Central Time, Saturday 8PM-5PM, Sunday 9PM-4PM)

I just tried the number and Spoke with Alex with JVC.
