if everything works out fine, I'm seriously considering it too.
I do not have the 3D emitter or glasses yet. They are on the way. So I can't say if it's bright enough yet. But even when I get it, I will only have one 3D Blu-ray to view: Prometheus.
The fan noise in high lamp was slightly louder than my Optoma HD72. If I were to guess, I would put it in the high 20s db. With the projector directly above my head, I don't think it would bother me.

First off, you need to understand who I am: I have no calibration equipment, I have never had my projector (or Kuro) calibrated in the past, and I probably won't. My experience is purely that of an untrained noobish eye. To put that into perspective, I am the kind of person who bought a Kuro instead of a Kuro Elite.
Having said that, right out of the box, by simply setting it to Cinema mode and adjusting the lens aperture to -10, at no point during TDKR did I feel the colour was off. If I were to adjust any other settings, I'm sure it can be even better, but at this point, I haven't a clue of what to try first. For me, not having CMS is ok for the $1200+ that I saved vs the RS48. But I know for purists and more experienced users, CMS would be a necessary feature. So what I'm saying is that the colour was enjoyable ... this is purely subjective. For a more objective review, I would wait for the true reviewers (e.g. Zombie10k) to share their opinions.
But if anyone would care to share any tips or calibration settings, then I would be happy to report the differences to the forum. Thanks for looking.
