Hi, I'm looking into helping buy hd250 model for a friend, but getting little confused if this model gone and not being replaced, or is the X35 the replacing model?
sorry if this is wrong place, I just wasn't sure.

It depends on what price. If it's going to cost you more than $1200 I wouldn't waste my money. Especially with newer models going for almost as cheap in the used market. I picked up a refurbished JVC DLA-X3 for $1499 last month. The X3 is a fantastic unit and a big step up overall from the 250 in my opinion. The x35 should be close to the X3's performance.
I purchased it on eBay so there wasn't a warranty. If purchasing a refurb unit you need to buy it from an authorized dealer to get the warranty. Give AVScience a call they have great prices on refurb and B-Stock units.
I just upgraded to the X35 from a HD350 (same as the HD250 but with a glossy black case). While some of the improvements are down to a new lamp in the X35 compared to a half dimmed lamp in the HD350, there are enough improvements in the picture quality (sharpness/contrast/motion) to make me pleased with my upgrade. I've only bought this for 2D use (no 3D glasses or emitter to save £300 in the UK). It depends on the price difference and your budget of course.
