Hey Gang-

Perhaps I'm being a bit thick here, but I just don't get it. Simply to reduce cost, can I have the MV3D glasses AND the stock HW30 glases working at the same time .. without soldering, gymnastics or other voodoo?

Currently, I have the stock Sony glasses working. In my current set up, I do have a CAT5 cable running from the projector to behind the screen. The 3D transmitter sits nicely under the screen on a small and discreet shelf which points it right at the viewers. I'm not happy with how dark these Sony glasses are .. but when i take them off, the screen is bright. No amount of gamma tuning on the projector seems to make me happy .. and my room is pitch dark. I want to incorporate the MV3D glasses because I hear they are nice, but short of buying 4, I want to see if I can use 2 and 2 ( I can give the kids the Sony's).

Looking for the definitive solution if it exists. If I can tune the projector further, I'm all ears there too.

Thanks!
Rob

The answer is yes. I use Sony and MV glasses simultaneously on the VW95es without a problem.

Rob, the active shutter glasses use up nearly 80% of the light that passes through the glasses due to how the active shutter technology works. You aren't going to see a noticeable difference going with the monster vision glasses.

The MV3D transmitter will work with the IR receiver, but you may need to update the firmware of the device itself. It's available on the monster website. The glasses also need to be tuned as well, so be prepared for spending some time in this area.

for an easier solution for extra glasses that are less expensive, there is also the Xpand 104's which will work out of the box.

I also wanted to get some more glasses without spending an arm and a leg. I first tried getting the br250s and buying the filters from sony. I don't like this solution because the filters are a pain to keep clean. I just picked up two pair of the Sony 3d glasses that are made to work with their playstation branded tv. They are at BB for $30 each. The nose bridge isn't as comfortable, but they seem lighter than the PJ1s and don't require and other filters, sensors, etc. I'm very happy with them. It is stupid that you can buy these for $30 but have to pay $140 for the PJ1s.

Ok, so what Sony Projectors work with the Sony Playstation 3D glasses? Because I sure can't get the 1000ES to work with them.

Thanks for that. Wow, this is nuts. The format for the 1000ES should be the same...

Old thread, but an update--the PS3 3D glasses do work with the 1000ES...its just that they are not as sensitive as the included glasses. So that is why my setup does not work with PS3 glasses without an external emitter. YMMV.
