I currently have a RS35 and a 120" Stewart Filmscreen Studiotek 130 Screen.

I would like to add 3D and would like the extra brightness of the new generation. My room is light controlled; however, I like to watch with lights dim when people are over for football. The extra 30-40% more lumens would be great for that.

The main question is, is the RS66 worth the extra money over the 56 and how much of an upgrade would I see going from the RS35 to the RS56 compared to going to the 66.

Thanks for the help.

I was an RS35 owner for a couple years and have had RS65 8+ months, though only 55 hours on the lamp.
My screen for both was a 120" 16:9 Silverstar ( now sold ).
I have a 58"x136" 2:35 HiPower arriving next week.

I thought the image improvement of the RS65 over the RS35 was significant for me.
I run on High-Lamp with the aperture shut down at -13, for maximum contrast.
The contrast improvement is readily noticeable IMO.
e-Shift contributes to increased image depth too.
Also the e-shift gives greater pixel density and a more solid looking image, which is handy when I am now shooting on 136" wide.
Just read any of the RS65 / RS55 threads for similar comments.

I don't do 3D so no comments from me.
I haven't seen an RS56 / RS66 so cannot comment on the improvement of it over the RS65.
Though I am sure there has to be some improvement in overall PQ, and improved 3D from what I have read so far.
