With It being 2013 and Mitsubishi recently discontinuing the HC5 Projector
The Million Dollar question is What is the 2013 Real Replacement for the HC9000D Projector
Will it Be 4K
Will it have a Powered Zoom and Focus
Will it be LCOS Style Projector or will it Go DLP ?

I love Mits Projectors
But Right now they have a Huge Hole in there line up vs the competition
In the High End Projector Range

It's been reported here and other places online that Mitsubishi created the HC5 to use up inventory left over from the HC9000D, and that when the inventory was spent, that would be it.

So where did you read that inventory is used up? Or is it your assumption?

This is what my dealer was informed via email

As of Jan 1st 2013 we will no longer be able to supply the HC5.
All current orders will be filled however we will not except any new orders.
Thank you for all your support with regards to the HC5 as well as all our other models.
Please look to the HC8000 as a suitable replacement.

All the best

So, they've stopped supplying with it already and no one on this forum still have it... *sigh*

So it seems, but apparently the HC9000D is still in the channel. Several vendors on Amazon have it, as well as on ebay.

I bought an HC9000D NIB for a ridiculous sum and am enjoying it immensely. I even got the THX video calibration from a local, certified calibrator.

Even my girlfriend voluntarily commented on how fantastic the picture was. She never mentioned that with any of the previous ones.

Ya the HC9000 is an amazing projector just like the other amazing units mits has had in the past
I think of the HC6800 or the HC7000 both where very great units
Its my thinking that Mits is cooking something up for us in 2013
I just hope it has all the features to keep everyone for a couple of years...
