Also keep in mind you can ceiling mount and still get decent gain out of it. In your case the ceiling is already quite low. There are HP calculators out there which will help calculate the available gain depending on the geometry. You may well find the ceiling mount work for you better without the constraint of not being able to raise your head ):

However on the big screen the PJ lens quality becomes more important. I'm not sure how Epson lens would compare to Sony, but suspect the Sony would be better. By most accounts JVC lens is best among the three.

How far have you mounted the projector from the screen?

I mount 18' from screen, with sitting distance ~ 14'. PJ is distant enough that I don't notice it, and HP geometry still provides good gain. HP design is amazing, easily the biggest gain for $$$, pun intended ): Many have stated its max gain is actually closer to 3.0. I do have absolute light control and specially designed room. However I can easily watch sports with side lights on even in low lamp mode - and that's in video calibrated mode.

I suggest you play with HP calculator on a spreadsheet - you can optimize your set up to your liking. I did, and the results are outstanding. I can only imagine what it would look like on the JVC or the Sony with 2-3x the lumen to play with.

By the way, custom installers must hate HP screens, but so what! Plenty of other sheep in the woods ):
