I am just getting started with building my dedicated Home Theater Room and I'm looking for what you guys consider the best projector I can buy. I've been busy building the rest of the house and I'm rusty on what the latest and greatest is. Before I got rusty I was leaning towards JVC projectors. So now it looks like the DLA-X75R is the price range I'm looking at. Also if you guys can throw in the distance from the screen I should be mounting this on that ceiling would be great.

Thanks:D

We need to know a little bit more. How much are you willing to spend? What are your room dimensions? What screen size are you getting. What screen material? What aspect ratio? Are you interested in 3D? What are your viewing habits? (just movies? TV shows? Games?) Is there anything specific you want to projector to do? (really good contrast? really good motion? the sharpest?)

Anything info will help us guide you, There is no such thing as a perfect projector, but we can give you a recommendation on what will work best for what you're looking for.

I told you I was rusty.smile.gif

Around the price of a DLA-X75r( which I think is about 8K)

The room will be a dedicated HT 20x14x8. Completely dark/ painted black.(I have a post also going for suggestion on the room)

Screen size should be between 92 and 106 inches. I had 92 and that was fine. I would rather have a better picture and smaller screen.

Screen material will be matched to the projector.

Don't really care for 3D.

It's mostly movies. 90% 10% other

In my old house I had a Sony pearl with a 92 screen I liked. But I love the black levels of my Panasonic Plasma. So from my early homework so far, I'm think the JVC DLA-X75 would be nice.
