Did the IR sensor problem occur with the original JVC projector remote or a different remote?
Also do you have your 3D IR emitter plugged in, that can cause it.
Why in god's name did they replace an optical block for a remote sensor?
What the heck kind of technician came to that conclusion.
That's like taking your car in for an oil change and they replace the engine.
All projectors have issues, and as much as I know the emotional component of having a problem and being outside the sample size, the fact you had a problem with JVC is an invalid sample size (though I know how VALID it feels when it happens to you). Let's be logical though, the fact you had a problem with a JVC does not mean JVC's are prone to problems, though the RS-40 was prone to lamp problems. Yes, the Sony is probably a tad more reliable, but the JVC is reliable in most respects, and the newer JVC's seem to be better.
Having been int his forum for years and read thousands of threads, I would say the RS-45's have had VERY few issues in comparison to the sample size posted. However, the lamps do fail a little early, but not as bad so it seems as some of the earlier models.
I have made it to 1400 hours on my JVC RS-45 lamp (series 2 original), so fingers crossed....
AVS is the best place to buy it from, they will help you if you get LEMONIZED...
