Went down to watch a movie today and could not get any video output from the projector. Turns on fine and no visible issues with indicator light. Brought another DVD player down and temporarily hooked it up directly to hdmi 2. Switch inputs on the projector and have the same issue. Just a black screen. All the on screen display menus work fine. Help please.

Thanks
Foster

Definitely not the hide button. I can hit the hide button and make the source display show up and disappear. Can't find a reset function so unplugged then it for a while. Same issue. It just doesn't recognize the hdmi inputs. Don't have anything to test the computer or component inputs.

Thanks though.

It is possible that your hdmi inputs are fried due to a nerby lightening strike. If an hdmi cable was hooked uo to an input this can happen. Some projectors have a separate hdmi chip for each input. Some have only one chip wired to the two hdmi inputs. Don't know whether the JVCs have one chip or two. I have had this happen to me.

Try running a three cable component cable from your Bluray player to the JVC. Be sure not to send it 1080p but use 480i or 1080i or 720p. 1080p will shut off the component output on your bluray player. If it works on less than 1080p via component your HDMI input chip(s) are shot. Repair is possible and might be covered by warranty especially if you don't know why they failed.

Flee27. It is customary for a TO seeking help with a problem and receiving advice so valuable that a price can not be assigned to it to report publically on the application of such advice or the discovery of some other solution to the problem. smile.gif
