I'm in the process of building a home theater and am looking to get my very first projector.

The details of my room....

Screen: 130" 2.35:1 acoustically transparent screen
Primary Viewing Distance: approx 12 feet
Throw Distance: approx 18 feet
I have complete light control (no windows).

Use:
40% Sports/TV
40% Movies
20% Gaming

2D only - I do not care about 3D.

Looking to spend around $5000...but willing to go a little higher if necessary.

So, which projector do you guys recommend?

JVC RS-48, though the screen size might be pushing it depending on how good the lamps are.
You could also look at the Sony vw95es (if you can still find them), or the Sony hw50 (but it has no 16:9 resize capabilities for a 2.35 screen, meaning you'd need to buy an A-LENS or a Lumagen with it, which = more $$$$)...

No problem, I didn't want to be a pain or anything, just didn't know who else to ask. Hopefully the new WEB Calculator out next weekend, it's been re-designed (somewhat).

I vote for the JVC RS-48 as well. I've always liked the JVC image, you have light control, should be a solid pick.
