Kraine - When you visit the Sony booth could you please ask if the PS4 is going to have HDMI 2.0 and is there any chance the PS4 will be upgradable via firmware to support the next generation of Blu-ray (w/ 4K)?

The show seems ho hum in the 4K projector world except for the one new 4K projector from Sony, the 500ES. And at Cedia, the 4K projector buzz will be that and the Sony 1100ES I suspect. There is just not a lot happening in the 4K consumer projector world. Maybe Red Digital will show something, coming soon. Coming soon now is 10 months with respect to the Redray and still counting.

Kraine, Where are the Acer 1080p DLP with HDMI 2.0? or any other DLP with HDMI 2.0 or displayport?

Also, tell Sony nobody is gonna buy the 600es if it's 15 000 biggrin.gif

Kraine - I'd also be interested to hear your take on OLED and how you think it compares to high end projectors. I will be in London fairly soon so hopefully I can check out the models on display at Harrods.

The price in Europe includes the VAT tax in Germany is 19% and 19.6% in France. Even with the Euro rates the price should be about $10,000msp in the US.

Wow that looks great. A 4k picture shot on a cell phone (maybe camcorder) shown from a 720p compressed youtube video on my 1080p projector. wink.gif

How bout some impressions instead of videos kraine. Honestly Videos and pictures tell us NOTHING about how a display can perform.

I know there must be lots to see. Keep the reports coming. Thanks.

The answer is yes about the questions of HMDI 2.0 for the PS4, but no answer for the second part of your questions Ron sorry.

My new dilemma: open the brand new JVC-RS56 that is in my newly finished HT in my basement or return it and wait for the Sony VW500ES? I wish we knew the US MSRP. I can hope it will be $9,999 but that is probably a dream.

I've been assured that it won't street for less than $10000. More likely around $12-$13k

Are there any DLP Projectors being shown that are capable of a 1920x1080P@120Hz stereoscopic resolution via HDM and the new 2.0 spec?

Or Dual Link DVI-D DLP Projectors that are 10K or less and capable of 1920x1080P@120Hz 3D?

The LG HECTO Laser device, I don't want to call it a projector because at 7999€ for the screen you have no choice of size or distance frown.gif

Is that just your guess, or what the Optoma people were saying?
