Wall to screen 13.5ft ... Screen = 134".. I also have a HD navitar lens to offer 25% extra screen size if needed... screen isnt masked so could easily bring size down to 120"~ish with adding a black border.

This will be going in my lounge. I can control most of the light. My screen has been painted with black widow mix (grey)

My goal = Best 2D image possible. Have a W1070 in the bedroom so 3D and gaming is taken care of but if its beats these areas = Bonus!..

About my tastes. Only ever bought DLP so used to a nice sharp image. Looking for a nicer darker image than my W1070.

1. Mits HC5 .... cost £1600 ($2400).... Brand new... 1 year warranty

2. Optoma HD83... cost £1380 ($2000)... Refurbished... 1 year warranty

3. JVC x35.... cost £2250 ($3350) Demo...100 hours on Bulb... 3 years warranty

4. Sony HW30ES... cost £1000 ($1490).... ex demo 140 hours on bulb... 2 months warranty

I am far from rich! And the JVC is a struggle maxing everything but if its the better option I am happy to smile.gif

from what I've heard the HC5 is pretty darn close to the x35, maybe even better in some aspects(like more lens shift I believe).

I recently bought a jvc x35 and i'm completely happy with it, but if it'd been able to find a hc5 for a grand less than I paid for the jvc I doubt I would have stayed with the jvc

Is the HC5 so much better than the HW30 in 2D?
