Well, after reading through this thread, I am thinking my next pj will likely be an RS57. I'll be upgrading from my RS2 (Gah! Only this week realized I have had it since September 2008! It still works very nicely too - calibrated with Lumagen by Tom Huffman all those many years ago..)
I have been making a list of the differentials for the two units, and have a couple of questions there (Yes, this is a slightly obsessive exercise, fraught with many dangers of non-comparability, but it's been fun making up the chart so far!):
Was a chip generation number published for the RS2? (I am thinking it might not be the 1st gen?)
Similarly, is the wiregrid generation known? Thinking the RS2 might be at version 1 here, since the RS2 brochure mentions the new wire grid but not a generation/version number).
Is the pixel gap for the RS2 Chip known someplace still online (Haven't found it so far)
The RS2 brochure states that the unit puts out 600 lumens. Have there been any differences in the way JVC establishes the lumen spec in the interim that would contradict that on the face of it, the RS57 is now over twice as bright?
Another question - has JVC listed the MSRP for the new RF 3D glasses?
Many thanks in advance for perhaps remedial level questions.
[ETA to add the pixel gap question and correct a cupla typos]
