Upon mounting my HW50 yesterday I noticed that just about any traffic in my kitchen (wood floors, directly above projector) causes unacceptable vibration and shaking through my mount and into my image.

Looking for an inexpensive solution first, then will look into replacing my mount with a vibration isolation mount. Has anyone used the peerless isolation mount?

"Damn, you can't get black levels like that on your projector!"

I've seen DIY solutions involving what amounts to creating a suspension for the projector using threaded rods, springs, and washers/nuts. I think it all might work better with some extra mass, too.

I'm 95% sure I saw this on AVS somewhere. If I can dig up the thread, I'll post a link.

It all boils down to what frequency you want to isolate and then picking a spring rate for the mass of your projector designed to resonate at that frequency. The spring must be fully elongated so that it dissipates energy without moving up and down. I hope I have this all right. Please correct me if I have something mixed up.
