Does anyone use the wireless module? Does it add inputlag/latency? How is this projector for gaming?

My problem, I would need to find a dealer who would take mine as a tread-in. My question is: Does any one out there know of any dealer/s that is doing trade-ins/upgrade deals?
Thanks
George

George we have in the past taken trades but truthfully why don't you just sell it here on the form or ebay given it is a 6020 it should still be under warrantee and you will probably get more $$$ for it.

Thanks for the input/response. First, I did not know that one could advertise on this FORUM, and Second, I am not knowledgeable about selling on ebay, but it is a good time to learn.

I have an NEC HT1000, which is not HD so I'm looking to replace it. I don't have an HDMI cable to my ceiling, and running a cable will be a PITA. So, two questions:

1) How well does the wireless module work? Can you watch BD movies, or is the connection too slow?

2) Is there a better choice for a HT projector? My throw distance is about 12.5'-13', and I have total light control.

Thanks.

I just recently sold my 5010 (replaced with a 6030) with ~785 hours on eBay and it got lots of activity and sold for a good price.

Thanks:
I will go and learn how to utilize eBay. It seems that is the way to go based on yours and Programmergeek's inputs.

Question about the Super resolution and advanced sharpness controls.

I know in 2d on the 6020 those controls worked but when using 3d, they were not usable.

so..

with the 6030 is this the same case? or can we now use at least super resolution with true 3d sources?

Thanks

I just watched The Croods in 3D and was able to change super resolution.

I've tested the RF glasses from my 2013 Panasonic ST60 plasma with the 5030UB, and they work fine. They were a little bit fiddly to pair initially, but once done they work great. Haven't done exhaustive testing to look for differences, but based on the few hours I've spent fooling around with 3D settings and watching content, both the Epson and the Panasonic glasses work great.

Projector Central has a comparison of the Epson 6030UB vs the $15,000 Runco X-200i.

The Epson 6030 kind of kicked the Runco's butt and at almost 1/4 the price. I can't wait for my 6030 - less than 2 weeks.

I can't wait to hook mine up with a UH 480 a-lens. Has anyone else hooked up a lens to a 6030?

I do not have a 6030ub but I have a UH480 a-lens hooked up to a 6020UB, and I would say by the way they are saying that the 6030UB is relatively good, you should be a happy viewer.
By the way, has anyone seen a comparison between the 6020ub and the 6030ub?

Can somebody pm about the price they paid shipped?

I don't care for the mount since I have another brand mount for the current 6500UB. More interested in the 3rd year warranty.

for everyone's enjoyment and entertainment, I copied and pasted parts of the review of the Epson vs the Runco and emailed it to some of these crook dealers selling the Runco; they are full of it and making a killing in profit margin every time some Sucker buys one

Are there any restrictions on the vertical placement of this projector in relationship to the screen? Does the lens have to be at least as low as the top of the screen?

Thanks

Is there a shortage of the 6030? I ordered one from a dealer and he stated he isn't sure when it will come in because Epson Is "poor" at delivery and communication. He stated it could be several weeks?....

My dealer told me it will be towards the end of the month before mine arrives. I signed the paperwork at the end of January. He said that Epson will get their 6030's in and box up all of the extra components that come with it and then ship them out a few days later to the dealers. My speakers were wired and mounted today. The screen and AVR rack will be done tomorrow. Then I have to wait til maybe the last week of Februaury to have the projector installed. Talk about friustration. At least I will have plenty of time to get my speakers and sub dialed in. Good grief.

are there still deals to be had with the 6030ub?  I see the original poster mention a bundle with oppo's... is that bundle still out there?

I'm in the market but cant decide on 5030, 6030, or Sony 55.  I'm leaning towards the 6030 due to the extra lumens for dim lit entertaining.

I went with the 6030 for a few reasons - the extra year on the warranty, it's black and blends in my dedicated home theater much better than white would the ceiling mount, the 2 pairs of 3D glasses, and I needed a dealer to install my home theater - speakers, projector, AV rack, URC, etc. For me it was a no brainier. After 100 hours on the lamp, I will have them do a ISF calibration too.

My calibrator told me that a Sony HW55 would provide a couple hundred more calibrated lumens than the 6030.

No, there is about a 50% lens shift from the top of the screen either direction so you could mount it much higher than the top of the screen.  Meaning -  If you screen is 4 feet tall you could mount the projector up to 2 feet taller than the top of your screen.

I feel your pain and thanks for the response. That only tells me it is a good projector. I am also seeing there are not that many post compared to some of the others in here. That tells me that either the ones that have them are very happy with it or there is just not that many in circulation because of the shortage.

I should be receiving my 6030 on Thursday or Friday. Getting pretty excited! My old 65" Rear projection DLP died last weekend (just after the Superbowl, thank goodness). Having no TV during the Olympics really sucks. Hope a projector for our only TV in the house works for us.

That being said I contacted Panamorph and with an UH480 they don't like to see the lens more than 12" above the screen and like to see less than 6".

Looks like I'll be returning my second Epson 6030. I received unit #1 in mid-December. After approx. 50 hours a single stuck pixel developed at the lower left edge. I coordinated with Gregg Loewen (Lion Audio Video) and a representative from Epson America Inc. I received a new replacement. Both gentlemen provided excellent and speedy customer service!

After approx. 25 hours unit #2 developed an array of "quad-dots" all over the screen. This even occurred with no inputs (HDMI cable disconnected). I turned the projector on and off, reset all menu choices - no help. I've been in contact with Gregg and Epson again.

Will advise.

Just curious, I got a 6030 end of December and just last night (minimal hours on the unit), at the end of a movie I saw what appeared to be a sparkley area on the screen (not the screen material). Today I checked it out and it is a Blue spot, maybe 3-4mm in diameter. Is this a "stuck" pixel? Dead pixels appear as black, don't they?
Thanks
