So I can't perfectly fill the screen otherwise I get bleed in the bottom right of the screen. See attached.

I can't figure out how to straighten this. Is it a problem with the projector?
Would love some help on this?.. pretty please?

Your projector is not perfectly aligned with the screen. It needs to be level and square with the screen. And your screen should be level ( and hopefully the wall is plumb ). Play with the mount.

I have a stupid question.....I maxed out the zoom on the 55es at the lens but the picture is not big enough. Is there anything else I can do or do I need to move my projector back?

There are other things that you can do, but the simplest and cheapest is to move the projector. The other options are to buy a conversion lens or set up a first surface mirror to increase your throw distance.

I'm interested in this projector but don't know if it will work in my set up. I want to sit it on a shelf 16.5 feet from a 106" screen. Is that within the throw distance of the projector?

I ordered my Chief RPA020 ceiling mount from B&H Photo...

Click on the compatability tab on this page to make sure it fits your projector:
http://www.chiefmfg.com/Products/RPA020
You can't order directly from Chief so that's why you have to go through B&H Photo. It may take them a week or more to get it from Chief before they ship it on to you but one time I ordered one for an older projector and they drop-shipped it directly from Chief.

It includes the standard Chief ceiling mount and a custom plate that fits the Sony 55ES. It's not that much more expensive than a universal mount and is a custom fit. I've never understood why someone would buy a two, three or four thousand dollar projector and then mount it using a piece of plywood. lol

Should be. I have a 118" screen with a throw distance of 16 feet. Perfect.

Or you could call someone that keeps this as a stock item.

I'm not sure if I am reading the projectorcentral.com throw distance charts correctly but if I am, the maximum throw distance for this projector on a 106" diagonal screen is 16' 2". Unfortunately, due to room limitations, I can't go with a larger screen. So I'm thinking I have to go with the JVC. I hate to spend the extra money but there will be no throw distance issues and it also has a huge vertical lens shift which should make set up very easy. I want to put this projector on a shelf at the rear of the room which is within easy reach. My former projectors have all been ceiling mounted and they have been a PITA when it comes to changing bulbs and normal maintenance. If I'm reading that chart wrong, I hope somebody will let me know since I would definitely go with the 55ES if it would work for me. Susan

You are correct, 16'-2" for the Sony. The JVC throw would be around a max of 21'-6" we have both of these projectors in stock. If you have any questions, give us a call.

Loquitur,

You will definitely love the 55ES.

Now owning it 2-3 months, it is performing flawlessly (though the first one I got was defective out of the box).

Picture quality is exceptional.

You really do not want to use a curved 16:9 screen. Only reason to use a curved screen is if you are using an Anamorphic lens and you do not use an anamorphic lens on a 16:9 screen. You really should call and talk to us.

Hi,

First post here but already read and learned a lot.

Lets get to the point:

The problem i've got is that i cannot get 30 bit or 36 bits per pixel COLOR OUTPUT from my Xbox ONE working on the HW55ES.
I've got the beamer almost 2 years now and have this problem since the beginning but as i've had a long hdmi cable i thought this might be the reason.

On 24 bits output of xbox one i've even had some distortion in the menu. Well,, finally bought 3 different kind of HDMI repeaters, to see what works best and send other back. They solve the distortion on 24 bit but none of them will let it work on 30 or 36 bits. Thought i'm gettng crazy. Everytime the beamer says: ''Frequency out of reach''

So thought, to be 100% sure the beamer is OK i test with a short cable directly from Xbox ONE to the beamer (2 METER Philips 4K compatible HDMI 1.4B cable)
Again the SAME PROBLEM,,,, what the **** is going on... Is my beamer faulty?

Can anybody check if 30 bits or 36 bits output from XBOX works on this HW55ES BEAMER.... Really dissapointed in this...
My 6 YEAR OLD Samsung LCD TV has no problem with the XBOX ONE 36 BIT output, now forced to play at 24 BITS, with a 3500 EURO Beamer.... crazy.........

Hope to hear soon, i might gonna drop a complain at Sony..
Also got the problem of the right side of the screen image going down (at the right end of the beamer output), no matter what i do, cannot get rid of it. As i read others have the same problem and some who tried to claim warranty got the answer that this is acceptable quality so nothing is fixed.

Also got a Sony STR DN1040 which doesnt work good with my Samsung TV, all internet is flooded with this problem and I've got them to replace mainboard with no result, they cannot fix it.... Sony has a bad name at us....... (sorry off-topic, all because of the stress sony causes...)
