Hi,

I have been an amateur home theater fanatic for years and read a thousand reviews before I will buy anything with a lot of help from people on here. I currently have a 60" Panasonic ST60 with Def Tech surround system for my house. My soon to be in-laws have been trying to purchase a new home theater system for the past few years but have gotten a horrible run around from Bestbuy installers who seem to just want to sell them the most expensive equipment. I suggested a local company to come out and give them a bid. The problem is I know very little about projectors and screens--I helped them pick out a new receiver and Blu-ray player, but that's as far as I got.

Anyways the local dealer recommended a Sony VPL-HW55ES projector with a Da-Lite Cosmopolitan Electro screen. I can't find much info about either, but I was wondering if an Epson PowerLite Pro Cinema 6020UB would be a better recommendation? It seems to be well liked. Anyone have experience with Da-Lite screens also? Thanks,

Dave

The Sony HW55 is a good projector. And Da Lite makes a good screen. Give me a call if you have questions. It doesn't sound like Best Buy is too far off track IMO.

I think that's a very good recommendation. Personally, I really like JVC's, but the Sony is very good and I bet you'll find about as many that would prefer that one. You're not going wrong with the PJ or the screen.

Thanks guys. Bestbuy here was horrible to deal with and kept increasing the price. The items recommended to me were from a local installer that seemed to know what they were talking about. It looks like they suggested some decent items.
