I don't notice any noise in High lamp , maybe if the sound is off. I have my PJ right above my head.

Anyone running a 103D with their 4910 have any issues with the video? I know the standalone Darbee units have proven to be problematic for some, and I know others that have had issues with the 103d with previous models of JVC pj's. Just curious!

I'm running all my sources through a 103D to a 4910 and have no issues. Before I had the 103D, I had a standalone Darblet. The 103D seems a bit more stable to me, but the standalone Darblet worked fine as well. It seemed to take longer to lock on through the HDMI handshake with the standalone Darblet than with the 103D.

My chain is source >> 103D >> Lumagen Mini 3D >> 4910.

Greetings,

No issues to report running the 103D through my Marantz AVP to the 4910.

Regards,
Thanks Ralph. You still running the 8801? If so, seems I won't have any issues myself

After an hour or so I would get a strange effect with the 4910 103d combo:
the right edge of the screen( a strip maybe 2 inches wide, running top to bottom) had the look of a beveled edge on a mirror, very prism-like. When I took the 103d out of the loop, problem gone. Now 103d gone.

Any reason to connect the Ethernet cable? What features do I get over the network?

No problems here with a 103D and X500, but I've only had the projector for about 2 weeks.

Don't worry, I use an HTPC exclusively with my X500. The 103D is a great reference blu-ray playback machine, but is just a little limited for my needs so I went the HTPC route. A little more cumbersome to set up, but the end result is great!

I love my 103D 4910 combo. Amazing pic, well worth the additional $$$ to step up to the 103D.

I could not search online for the difference in playback quality of bluray player(PS3,oppo) vs HTPC vs macbook air regarding watching mkv or bluray. any difference in video or sound quality?

I'm still limping along with my OPPO 93 running to my 4910. I figure OPPO will have something new for CEDIA this fall with Darbee an option in one or more of their models. Kind of hard with all the reports of how the 103D adds to the picture with the Darbee processing, but I'll try and tough it out.
