The Epsons are great all-around projectors but 3D is not their strong suit, at least compared to DLP projectors. I own both the Epson 6010 and 6020 -- both considered good 3D projectors; however, compared to a good DLP for 3D purposes their flaws become evident. Now, with better response times from the new panels in the LS10000 and LS9600 Epson may have taken a step forward with 3D -- I certainly hope so.

Since you're happy with the Epson my advice is to enjoy it and NOT look for issues. Whatever you do don't buy a descent DLP and then compare 3D scenes between it and the Epson. Ignorance is bliss. Don't take the "red" pill -- stick with the "blue" one.

Once color calibrated behind the glasses and running the glasses in low brightness to fight off x-talk, the Epson is basically the same brightness in 3D as the other projectors. Even then it's still not as good as the DLP's.
