Hello everyone! I have a recently purchased FPJ1 used for my brother. He has had it for about 3 months and 50 hours. It was bought from a fellow avs member who never had issues with it. It has the original lamp with 800 hours on it. Last night, for the first time, he tried to turn on the PJ and there was a clicking sound 2-3 times followed by the lamp light blinking and a red warning light on. After unplugging it he tried again and this time it fired up with no problems. Now today we have had the same sequence of events but now cannot get the PJ to fire up at all. I took the lamp out and everything looked fine. He has never had issues like this before. I am at a lost at what to do next. Does anyone have thoughts? My brother is in a situation where a $500+ repair bill is not in the budget. Thank you all for your time!

Chad

It could be the bulb in the lamp. You could try replacing the bulb (about $100) and see what happens. Might work, might not.

That's a reasonable thought. Any thoughts on good lamps other than JVC. I know some just replace the lamp and keep the old housing.

Go to RS2/PRO-FPJ1 owners: Set up discussion thread (Front projectors over $3,000) pg.136, post 4056 and start reading. It will tell you everything you need to know.
