I noticed the specs for the new X10 show only a 1tb internal hard drive. I made me wonder if Sony will keep the X1 as its' flagship and offer a firmware upgrade to make it feature compatible to the X10? Anyone heard anything that may support the possibility?

I do not think they will be upgrading the x1 outside of small firmware updates. I believe I have read that you can attached your own HDD to the x10, which could help explain the 1tb storage. Also, at this point, we can only assume that the x1 does not have the HEVC decoder on-board, which would really eliminate it from being a "flagship" style device.

Figured I will wait till E3 to see if Sony announces any upgrades for PS4 before returning my X1 for X10.

I doubt they are going to use the PS4 for 4K delivery otherwise they wouldn't have come up with another device (that looks strikingly like the PS4). I've had a PS4 since launch and they are still struggling to add common features that the PS3 could do years ago. It seems they are mainly focused on gaming which is fine since it sold as a gaming console.

Maybe when a 4k disc format is announced they will release an updated ps4 with 4k streaming and the new blu ray, but I wouldn't pass up on the x10 in hopes of a ps4 update anytime soon.

I am thinking the same. Fortunately I am still within the return period for X1. I am wondering if X10 will allow access to other streaming services other than Netflix just like other streaming devices. Would be surprised if it doesn't.

I have seen mixed reports. The Sony website actually list more than just netflix. It shows all of their streaming apps...amazon, pandora, etc. I guess we won't know until we get out hands on it smile.gif

Edit: actually it looks like it has changed since I last looked. It previously had images of amazon prime and pandora which are now gone.

It will. It works with all Sony 4k TVs. It has to be plugged into hdmi 4 on the 2013 models.
