Here is the translation, or a kind of...

Rumor of successor aircraft of Sony VW10HT

Contribution person: Suzutoshi (April 22nd of 2001 o'clock of 01 26 minute 33 seconds)

Yesterday, (it cannot release from a certain store of Akihabara), serious information was obtained. ‚à something! Being something where the successor aircraft of the Sony VW10HT already immediately becomes announcement, it did. When (it is story of that store, it is announced in May, from July becomes sale it seems) concerning price and efficiency you do not understand completely, but, the black floating which had become problem with the VW10HT was improved considerably, got near to three tubes so is. The SONY withdraws from production of three tubes, is gaining force of the DLP product of the YAMAHA and the PLUS, et cetera in addition, until now, with the product of the wide panel which is monopoly of the SONY being with a ‚é, thinks as the thing which is hasty very even from the SANYO. Originally. The VW10HT was the product whose cost performance is very good, but, the successor aircraft there being age of this kind of depression, furthermore expects that it is the product whose cost
performance is good. Don't you think? it is everyone pleasure!
Please, note the word rumor in the title http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/wink.gif

Sorry guys,

but I just crawled back from the floor from laughing,
Looks like those translators can use an update themselves http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

I hope the term aircraft does not reflect the noise the fan will make.

After lurking for a while perhaps I can make my first post useful http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/wink.gif

I think this is a passable translation:

Yesterday I heard some top secret (confidential?) information about the Sony VW10HT replacement from a man at a shop in Akihabara. He said the replacement for the Sony VW10HT will be announced soon - in May and on the market by July. He said he was not sure about the price and specs but said black-level was supposed to be significantly improved & very close to CRT levels (!?!). (He also said?) Sony has already exited the CRT business. There were many YAMAHA and PLUS DLP products in the shop. Also SANYO are starting to sell wide (16x9) panel products, which previously only Sony produced. Anyway, the VW10HT offered very high price/performance & with the economy the way it is letfs hope the replacement will offer even more price/performance. I'm sure everyone's looking forward to this new product...

Stuff in brackets obviously mine...

Hope this helps.

Thanks Paul,

If the blacks are the only thing that is improved, probably brighter too but that is a non-issue in my situation, I am not too upset about the new one coming out so soon sence I just bought the 10HT a few weeks ago. I have not gotten mine ceiling mounted yet but having messed around with it and my screen color I am VERY satisfied with the blacks of the current 10HT.

Thanks

Thanks Paul for the translation, but I must inform you that it's not half as funny as the machine-made one http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

OT: The acid test for translation software is to take a phrase, translate from language A to B, then take the resulting B and translate back to A. The result of doing this, some great number of years ago, to "The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak" was "The wine is good but the meat is rotten."

BTW - I read the rest of this japanese site thread but it's mostly more speculation & discussion re possible pricing for the new Sony offering V competing Yamaha etc. products.

Claude, I should also credit my (japanese) wife with tidying up my initial translation before I submitted it... http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif Without her help I may have out-done babel http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
