Many,

1. Is is it a line that goes all of the way accross?
2. Does it happen in normal desktop mode under 1024*768?
3. Is it only in the player?
4. Do you think it is a Radeon problem?
5. Have you hooked up a normal monitor yet?

let us know these items first. We might be able to help from there.

1. It is not only a line but a green colored abstract that starts form 1/3 of the screen to the bottom. But the desktop display can be seen whole at the remaining 2/3 to the top.

Yes to no. 2

3. It is not only on the player. It is just there as soon as the screen settles on the desktop windows display upon booting.

4. It is a Radeon problem because I don't have this problem with my previous GeForce card.

5. I hooked up my normal 19inch monitor and there is no problem.

I just replaced my GeForce Card with Radeon VE. Everything worked well and even the ATI DVD player works too. My problem is that there is stray light or a green abstract strip or maze at the 1/3 lower portion of the screen. Before, I just reboot the computer and the green strip disappears but recently it just stays no matter what I do. To solve the problem I placed a bond paper strip in front of lens covering almost the bottom half or just enough for the strip not show on the screen. When I switched to the HDTV programs on the RCA DTC100 the strip is not there, also no problem with the GeForce card. Any help will be appreciated from UP1100 owners. thanks in advance

Mannyqg,

O.K. now I understand a little better.

The only suggestion I would make is to change your refresh rate from your video card. Give 75Hz a shot.

Also, the fact that your CRT monitor works properly isn't really a good sign. At some point you will need to test the projector on another computer that outputs XGA.

The only other thing I can suggest is to enact the full reset option in the control panel. It is in one of the set-up menus.

See if this helps. Let me know how it goes.

Ps. The firmware can get corrupted at times, but this is rather rare. That is the only thing I would think might have to be sent back to Plus to correct.

Manny,

I wish I could help you on this one. I had the Radeon for a brief period of time many months ago.

I actually got a better picture from WinDVD than I did for ATI's player. But I would guess things have changed since then and both images should be very similar.

A stupid answer to your question would be: Are you in 24 or 32 bit color space?

A more likely problem would be: Are you using "Normal" gamma on your UP-1100? Natural 1 and 2 have some bizarre color curves.

Let me know if either of these help.

Sorry to bother you again, but I have another problem. There is a noticeable posterization on human faces or skins but none on the background and other objects. I did not notice this when I was using the GeForce video card. Do you have any idea why the ATI card has this problem and any interim solution. I am saving money for "thumperizing." Thanks as usual
