Any idea when you're planning on having the powerbuy go through, or just when/if you get enough people? I'm very interested in a G15, but I want to take the time to do some local demoing before I pull the proverbial trigger.

To be honest, a month or two would be better timing, but the savings of the powerbuy might be sufficient for me to do it now (I know, I said that last time, but it's closer to the "right time" now http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif).

We'll be placing the order as soon as we have enough people. However, I would guess that it will take a month or so to get 10 people committed.
Milori, I'll check to see about the trade in. I'll send you an email.

Thanks!

I am definitely interested in the Powerbuy. I will be buying a G15 (JVC OR Dukane) within the next 6 weeks (since I now have a contractor for my new home theater room who is going to be completing his work by July 2; the design has been in works with my architect Robert Reed for about 6 months now). PLEASE CONTACT ME RE THE POWERBUY. Thanks.

I'm waiting on some stock to transfer over.. should be a week or two. At that point, I'm in. I'd also like to get the calibration done (the 1024-point job), and purchase a greyhawk screen through you guys at the same time.

I'll send you an email with some additional questions, but either way, count me in.

Due to the success of our last powerbuy, we have decided to start another G15 power buy. Again, we need at least 10 people interested to pull this off. Please place a post here if you are interested in this power buy.

Price: $9400.00

Thanks!

Hi Jason,

Are you taking "trade-ins"? I bought a G11 from you a while back, and have been thinking about the leap for a while...

If not, I will look at a private sale.

Just thinking out loud for the moment...

Jason:

I'm in a situation similar to Mark's. I have a G11 I'd be willing to trade for the right deal. It's martinized and has 500 hours on the lamp. Can you email me privately and let me know if you can make me a deal (with or without the power buy).

Thanks.

How about those who would be interested in being on the buy side of those who want to sell or trade in their DILA? (and perhaps a summary FAQ of options people have had done, because not everyone knows what Martinized, Fosterized, etc means). A win-win for everyone.

Al,

What a great suggestion! I'm just about ready to throw in the towel on my first-generation DLP projector (the low light output strains my eyes). A pre-owned "poor man's entry level" D-ILA which an AVS forum member has properly -ized and cared for might be something I could afford.
If any G15 power buyer is looking for a pigeon--er, I mean buyer--for their previously owned G11 or older model, I could be had with proper inducement.

For those interested in trading in their G11's or just looking to sell direct, I have a short list of people who have either called or emailed me who are interested. I almost have enough people and will be closing up this deal this week more than likely, so contact me soon if you are interested.

Thanks! http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/cool.gif

Erm.. I still haven't been able to transfer the stock needed to finance this purchase.. it's going through some unforseen delays.. latest update from my financial consultant today was a "couple of more days." I'll post here as soon as I know for sure, but it'd be safest to count me as a "tentative" rather than a definite confirmation, especially if the power buy is to go through very soon.

I'm out too, at least until the first couple weeks of June. If wintr's stock tranfer doesn't go through in time, maybe we can be the seed of the next powerbuy. http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/wink.gif

Uhhhh, anyone feel like waiting to see what comes out at INFOCOMM? From what Tom Stites posted in another thread it seems like there's going to be a new projector coming in at a similar price point to the current G15. Maybe they're bringing in the new electronics package from the DS1 and the M20 and possibly better out-of-box contrast?

I was really interested in a G15 for use in a few months, but if JVC announces a new products at a similar price point...

I know I don't want to get caught with the last G15's before they roll-out a fancy new projector with all the bells and whistles, I also get the impression that a lot of the people in this power-buy are upgrading from G11, maybe you don't mind the wait to find out?

Regards,

Kam Fung

Pad makes a good point. The introduction of new hardware in a few weeks could make the "power buy" look like the "poorer buy."

Also, I don't understand what's so powerful about this purchase. It seems to me that $9400 is a good price for a small group--4 or 5 persons, but shouldn't there be price reductions as more people sign up? If that is in fact the way it works, I stand corrected.

In that case, I think a 50-man group should command a lot more buying power than the $9400 price would suggest. To me, here's a power buy: $7900 prior to JVC's new hardware announcement. If JVC has something new up its sleeve this should attract their attention. If so, sign me up. I'm tired of waiting.

Well, based on Tom Stites' comments, it sounds like they're planning on improving noise/heat/scaling, which many have already dealt with (hushbox or clost installation, HTPC).

I'm not sure improvements in those areas are going to be persuasive for me, but I do wonder if the MSRP is likely to be affected by the introduction of a more HT-friendly model at the G15's current price point.

Though Tom did say "you won't see G15 performance under $10K". What to do, what to do...
